2004/2005 AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Week Ending October 10, 2004
Hockey East Honor Roll: Junior Elias Godoy was named to the Honor Roll as he gained a point on all three goals of a 3-2 season opening win at Niagara in OT. His 1-2-3 helped gain him a spot on the list, and sophomore Cleve Kinley's game winner in OT also gained him recognition. Kinley finished with a 1-1-2 in the game.

Hockey East Honor Roll: Cleve Kinley was named once again, thanks to his 1-1-2 in a 3-2 loss at UMass.

CCM Hockey Player of the Week & USCHO Offensive Player of the Week: Junior Ben Walter notched five goals in a weekend sweep in NY, scoring four times (one ENG) to beat RPI 5-3 and an empty net goal that proved to be the game winner in a 3-2 win at Union. Hockey East Honor Roll: Freshmen Grant Farrell and Peter Vetri received their first recognition as DI players. Farrell notching a 1-1-2 line at Union, and Vetri making 30 saves and winning his first collegiate

Hockey East Honor Roll: Junior Andrew Martin and sophomore Jason Tejchma both earned their way onto the Honor Roll for the first time this year. Martin scored twice in a 3-2 home win over Colgate, while Tejchma notched two goals in a 5-4 home loss to Maine.

Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week: Peter Vetri made 27 saves as he helped Lowell earn its first point in league play with a 3-3 tie against UNH in Lowell. He followed that up with a 16 save performance in an 8-0 shutout (the first of his collegiate career) against an over matched Bentley squad, also in Lowell. Hockey East Honor Roll: Junior Bobby Robins joined Ben Walter on this list, as Robins had a 1-1-2 line in each of the two games, while Walter scored his second hat trick of the season on his way to a 3-1-4 line against Bentley.

Hockey East Honor Roll: Junior Brian Bova was named to the Honor Roll for the first time in his career, as he scored twice during a 7-2 pasting of St. Lawrence at Lowell. Thanks to the weekend sweep (including defeating Clarkson 3-2), Cleve Kinley (1-2-3 vs St. Lawrence), Andrew Martin (2-2-4 on the weekend), Peter Vetri (45 saves on 49 shots for the weekend, and his first collegiate assist), and Ben Walter (2-1-3 vs Clarkson) also earned the Honor Roll.

Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week: Peter Vetri earned the honor for the second time in three weeks, making 34 saves in a 2-2 tie at Northeastern. Hockey East Honor Roll: The point at NU was earned also thanks to the two goals scored by Elias Godoy, who also notched an assist on the game winning goal at Dartmouth in a 4-3 win. The two goals at NU tripled his goal output for the year.

Week Ending January 2, 2005
Hockey East Honor Roll: Bobby Robins and Peter Vetri paced Lowell in their 5-2 home win over Niagara. Robins scored twice, including the game winner, and finished with a +3 on the game. Vetri stopped 26 shots.

December, 2004
SuperSkills Hockey Rookie of the Month: Peter Vetri won yet another honor, as he finished the month with a 3-0-1 record, with 105 saves, and a 1.96 GAA. He saved 92.9% of the shots he faced during Lowell's undefeated month.

Week Ending January 9, 2005
Hockey East Honor Roll: Jason Tejchma and Peter Vetri helped Lowell gain their first two league wins of the year, defeating UMass and NU, 4-3 and 2-1 respectively. Jason Tejchma had a 1-2-3 line on the weekend, while Vetri stopped 28 shots against NU.

Defensive Player of the Week: Junior Kim Brandvold notched three assists on Saturday night and finished with a +4 rating for the weekend as Lowell swept Merrimack 2-1 at home, and 3-2 at Volpe. Hockey East Honor Roll: Peter Vetri stopped 40 shots in the weekend sweep, continuing his hot play.

Week Ending January 23, 2005
CCM Hockey Player of the Week: Ben Walter scored his third hat trick of the season in a convincing 6-1 win at UMass. Hockey East Honor Roll: Once again coming up big, Peter Vetri stopped 38 shots on the week, winning at UMass and tying Brown 0-0.

Week Ending January 30, 2005
CCM Hockey Player of the Week: Danny O'Brien was named Co-Player of the Week thanks to his 3-3-6 line in the weekend split against UNH. Lowell shut out UNH at home 7-0, while losing on the road 8-3. O'Brien finished the weekend with a +6. Hockey East Honor Roll: Even with the tough loss on Saturday night, Peter Vetri earned recognition thanks to the 21 saves on the way to his first career league shutout. Andrew Martin's 2-4-6 line also earned him the recognition for the week.

January, 2005
SuperSkills Hockey Rookie of the Month: For the second straight month, the Lowell freshman takes home the honor. Peter Vetri finished the month with a 6-1 record, with 169 saves, and a 2.06 GAA. He saved 91.4% of the shots he faced during the month of January.

Week Ending February 6, 2005
Hockey East Honor Roll: Thanks to a 4-4 tie at BU and a 3-2 home OT win over Providence, Elias Godoy (1-2-3), Danny O'Brien (one power play goal in each game) and Peter Vetri (65 saves on the weekend) all earned Hockey East recognition.

Week Ending February 13, 2005
Hockey East Honor Roll: Junior goaltender John Yaros returned from an injury to shutout Providence on the road 2-0. Lowell had lost their only other weekend game, 3-2 to NU.

Week Ending February 20, 2005
Defensive Players of the Week: A weekend sweep of #1 BC earned both John Yaros (3-1 win on the road) and Peter Vetri (4-1 at home) the honor. Yaros stopped stopped 32 shots while Vetri had 39 the following night. Hockey East Honor Roll: Godoy and fellow junior Mark Pandolfo got credit for their work during the sweep, as Elias Godoy had two power play goals on the weekend, while Pandolfo assisted on both game winning goals and had a goal of his own.

Week Ending February 27, 2005
Hockey East Honor Roll: John Yaros (32 saves in a 2-0 loss) and Godoy (2 power play goals in a 5-3 loss) were two bright spots during a dismal weekend sweep at Maine.

For the 2004/2005 Season
Junior Ben Walter was named Second Team All-Hockey East, while freshman Peter Vetri was not only named to the 2004/2005 Superskills Rookie Team, but was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Year.
